Maltem Consulting Group chooses Montreal as the location for its cybersecurity expertise

Maltem Consulting Group expands its Montreal-based subsidiary's offering with the launch of a new cybersecurity coaching service. Over the next three years, Maltem Canada plans to create 100 positions in Montreal, including 40 in its dedicated cybersecurity department.

The cybersecurity sector is booming in Greater Montreal and everything is being done to make it a destination of choice for companies in this industry. Maltem Canada, founded in 2018 by Jean-Luc Salinas and Marc Giraud-Sauveur, has understood this by opening this new cybersecurity centre of excellence in Montreal.

An offer that responds to current business issues such as cyber attacks, risks inherent to computer data and of course human negligence. Maltem Canada has designed this service for all its clients: start-ups, large groups and of course SMEs. Complete coverage of offensive security, a selection of awareness workshops, training in "secure code", support in governance, risk and compliance(GRC), security architecture and DevSecOps.

"Today's businesses are increasingly subject to malicious attacks and the consequences can be disastrous both financially and for their brand image. Maltem Canada, as a leader in digital transformation, had to offer an expertise dedicated to information security and awareness. Our desire is to shake up current practices!" Jean-Luc Salinas - Co-founder, Maltem Canada

Key partnerships and a collaborative ecosystem

Positioned as a champion of Tech for good, Maltem Canada is convinced of the success of its operation, which is based on the establishment of local and international partnerships.

"Our mission is to ensure that our customers are able to prepare themselves as well as possible for the unexpected. The fact that many companies are still chasing threats is a big problem. We are committed to providing our customers with a complete package by helping companies to protect themselves. We are very happy and proud to collaborate with Yogosha and Flare Systems who will help us by offering an offensive and preventive approach." Marc Giraud-Sauveur - Co-founder Maltem Canada

Signing partnerships with local companies is essential, as it not only complements Maltem Canada's service offering ,but also allows us to participate in Quebec's economic growth.

"The Maltem Group, with its international reputation, will support a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses in Quebec and France with our Firework platform, which has already been proven to work with large corporations. Maltem Canada's expertise in cybersecurity education combined with Firework's proactive detection of threats and data leaks will provide tailored protection to these organizations." Mathieu Lavoie - CEO, Flare systems

It is always with this vision of excellence for its clients that Maltem has chosen to ally itself with the company Yogosha, the first private Bug Bounty platform in Europe, which helps organisations detect and correct vulnerabilities before criminals exploit them.

"We are delighted with this partnership with Maltem. This collaboration will enable us to offer a managed cybersecurity service dedicated to the audit of the most critical applications through our platform in our common markets. This offer combines local support, innovative technological solutions and the animation of an international community of elite vulnerability researchers." Yassir Kazar - CEO, Yogosha

But beyond Maltem Canada' s expertise and its influence in Quebec, another ambition is emerging, that of working with Montreal's university networks to participate in the emergence of qualified talent. In fact, Maltem Canada is actively working with the École Polytechnique de Montréal in partnership with Yogosha to organise joint "Live Hack" events, the next of which will take place in early 2021.

Maltem Canada is entering the cyber security market with the benefit of this strong local ecosystem as well as rich collaborations with support organisations such as Montréal International and Investissements Québec.

"Increasingly, Greater Montreal is establishing itself as a key region for cybersecurity companies. This can be explained, among other things, by Montreal's expertise in artificial intelligence, a field closely linked to digital security, but also by the pool of specialized and highly qualified workers found here. In recent years, several Montreal universities have developed cybersecurity programs to meet the growing demand." Stéphane Paquet - President and CEO, Montréal International

"The advantages of doing business in Quebec for French companies are numerous, and this expansion proves it once again. Our team is working closely with Maltem Canada to ensure that it has all the tools it needs to achieve its ambitious goals, by offering financial support and guidance in digital transformation. Our technology ecosystem is strong and cybersecurity players can be confident that they will find everything they need to develop and scale their ideas." Hubert Bolduc - President, Investissement Québec International.
